The victims of the Holocaust will forever be without justice, as many of the men and women who orchestrated and perpetrated these awful crimes have escaped persecution since the end of the Second World War. However, memorial efforts continue to commemorate the suffering of the victims and the power of the survivors, while post-war trials fought to punish as many perpetrators as they could. Those who ran from their crimes can still be brought to justice.
